Central Heating Controls

Central Heating Controls

It is imperative that central heating systems have the correct type of controls fitted, not only to enable the smooth and efficient running of your system, but also to give you trouble free and flexible use of your heating throughout its lifetime.

Modern Conventional and Unvented systems require:

  • Programmer - come in many different varieties to control the functioning of hot water and heating.
  • Cylinder Thermostat - enables you to set the temperature of your hot water to within 1 degree.
  • Room Thermostat - enables you to set the Room temperature to within 1 degree.
  • Motorized Valve - controlled by the Programmer, directs the flow of water from the boiler to the cylinder or radiators.
  • Pump - to circulate the water through the boiler and sister components.
  • Wiring Centre - the brain for the heating system.
  • Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) - enables you to set the temperature for each room individually so as not to waste heat in a room you rarely use.

Combination Systems require the following:

  • Programmer / Timeswitch - sometimes built into the boiler or wired externally.
  • Room Thermostat - wireless thermostats are popular for combi boiler upgrades.
  • Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs)
